The S-Bahn in Berlin does a weird thing. Well, it probably does many, but only one came to my attention this time. After the train has pulled into the station and the doors have opened, an announcement tells you where the exit is. “Ausstieg rechts,” or “Ausstieg links.”
This would only be useful – or entertaining – if both doors opened at every station and the riders were blind.
But as it is, most people tune out, and those who aren’t able to merely roll their eyes.
