I know this is cruel, but when we lived in Chicago, we used to “measure” how hot a day was by how many Dead Old People were reported in the news. There have been a few hot days here this week, but I’m not aware of a Brooklyn D.O.P. Index. Maybe the news doesn’t report that kind of thing around here, or maybe the city is more organized in that respect (though I doubt it). It’s most likely that the size of the place minimizes any statistical spike. Perhaps there’s a S.I.P. (Stabbings In the Park) Index instead.
I don’t know.
