Often, because I am of the so-called "day people," people who see me and the kids are surprised when they see Julie.
"Oh, you're the mom," is a comment she frequently gets to hear - and, obviously dislikes.
Today I finally came up with a fairly good response, I think.
"You didn't think, after hearing all I had to say about her, that a woman this perfect could really exist, did you."

I used to answer the "you're the mom" accusation by saying something like, "Oh, yeah. That twenty-something blonde you always see me with is just a mistress."
The only one who laughs at that joke is usually Julie.
